Panels

There will be a total of five panels throughout the week of the event. Panels offer students the opportunity to hear advice from professionals, learn more about the industry they currently work in and tips for future career paths. For our last panel on Thursday, we are letting students pick the topic. If you have a panel idea, DM us on Instagram and let us know!

Tuesday (9/15):

Panel #1 @ 4pm :  Keynote panel: Nebo Agency

  •     Join this panel to hear our platinum sponsor, Nebo, discuss how to conquer challenges and keep up with change in the fast-pace industry and world that we live in. Now more than ever, it is essential for students to learn how to navigate the ever-changing workplace and job market. This panel will cover topics from how to stay optimistic in times of change, and teach students how to  leverage their skills during a hiring freeze.

Wednesday(9/16):

Panel #1 @ 2pm : Building Your Brand: Presenting yourself to future employers

  •     Learn how to navigate the process of polishing up your portfolio and personal brand. One of the biggest challenges that students face is learning how to professionally pitch themselves to future employers. Our Panelists will inform students on what makes an eye-catching portfolio, and how to stand out amongst the crowd when it comes to interviewing, networking, and landing your dream job.

Panel #2 @ 4pm: Navigate your Niche

  •     Are you an avid designer that knows their way around Adobe? Can you converse well with strangers? Or are you just learning how to leverage your strengths? Navigating Your Niche will allow students to narrow down what makes them standout, and provide them with tools on how to succeed in landing their dream internship or career. Commit to the challenge of discovering what makes you different and how to stand out in your field. Additionally, this panel will be geared towards students who are interested in a career in the AdPR industry, and will touch on all that a Grady education has to offer.

Thursday (9/17):

Panel #1 @ 2pm: Things I Wish I Would Have Known

  •     What do you do when you hate your first internship? How do you begin to negotiate salary with employers? What are the most important things I should be doing in college to impress future employers? These are just a few of the challenging questions that can only be answered with experience? Our panelists will provide valuable insight to students in regards to some of the topics that come with learned experiences in their first job + internship. This panel is definitely catered towards Juniors and Seniors, and those looking for valuable insights into their first post-grad job.

Panel #2 @ 4pm:  Student Selected Topic

  •     This panel will feature a topic chosen by our students. Potential topics include:  how to be productive during COVID-19 (how to make the most of your time, finding a job in this climate, and exploring options such as portfolio school/grad school).
